Online City Message Board
Jøran Lindblom has set up a message board at the
following address.
http://www.InsideTheWeb.com/messageboard/mbs.cgi/mb41914
I will be putting a link from my website as soon as I can (probably
tonight). So it would be best if all posts about the city and the like
go there for now. We don't want to continue to clog up the mailing list
(185 message in a day) with our mail.

As I understand it, this is a Web-based message board, yes?
For a couple of reasons (web-based message boards being rather painful
to use in general, IME especially with slow connections; and them
being rather slow to use for those of us in countries [in my case the
UK] where telephone calls are charged by time), could I suggest that
we instead look into setting up a second mailing list for this
project?
Apart from those considerations, I do think it would be rather easier
to use for all involved, and it'd certainly be easier to keep an
archive of for future reference.
(If it'd help, and the volume isn't likely to creep into megabytes
upon megabytes, I could set up a mailing list and archive for this on
my machine - the only drawback might be that there would be a slight
lag on postings showing up (a couple of hours, at worst a day) as my
machine is on a dial-up connection.)
Comments?
Alistair,

That may be a good idea, the message board is a good start though, just
to get all the message out of the Birthright Mailing list.

I have just set up a webpage that can be used as an archive of important
information.

Well, my offer of a mailing list for the Online City is always open,
and even with the slight potential lag involved I still think it would
be good - if someone would mail me a list of people and e-mails to put
on it, I could have it up and running immediately...
In fact I will now, although whether people want to use it is up to
them - the list will be at
list-onlinecity@arkane.demon.co.uk
and the address to send subscribe requests, etc. to
request-onlinecity@arkane.demon.co.uk
Send them as plain text, it's just an alias for my mailbox...
Hoping this will be useful,
Alistair
