    VOTING - Online City

I've compiled a list of what I think are the key issues concerning
this 'online city.' We should all vote on the following issues -

    1) Resource vs. PBeM?

Should this Online City be a game where we are all PCs, or should the
Online City be a resource for BR DM's to use in their own campaigns?

I vote that it should be a resource.

    2) The City Itself: The Imperial City or elsewhere?

Which city should we develop? I believe that Ed Stark has already said
that no product (for the Imperial City) is slated for development or
release in the near future, but I could be wrong.

I vote for the Imperial City.

    3) Management

Several people have volunteered to manage certain parts and/or create some
areas of the city. Should we have one DM coordinating the entire effort,
or 2-3 moderators as someone else suggested? The third option I know of is
to divide along four lines, having 4 DMs for Law/Guild/Temple/Source. If
so, who wants to DM/Moderate/etc? Are there any other management methods
that have been suggested that I've neglected to mention?

From what I've seen, this is where most of the confusion is coming from.

For the record, I'd like to be a DM regardless of which option we choose. If
we go along the 1 DM for each area, I'd like to DM the sources. I vote for the
    division along 4 lines.

As for the votes, you can either send them to me or send them to the list.

    RESOURCE

ILLIEN (Although asking Ed if TSR might possibly be planing to do any
    of the cities in particular)

    > 3) Management

4 MODERATORS SOUNDS GOOD. 1 FOR EACH LINE (LAW/TEMPLE/GUILD/SOURCE)
But one of these should be in total control as well. After all
someone MUST have final say so that this will all fit together.

This is the InterNet. It is big enough for all of the below.

The first trick is for each person to figure out which area she wants to
    pursue.

The second trick is to name the various threads.

The third trick is to use the names in the subject of your posts.

The fourth trick is to contribute.

The fifth trick is to support your fellow contributers.

The sixth trick is to resist the temptation to cross-pollenate. That can
    come later.

    That's my 2 GB.

    RESOURCE

Imperial City, assuming TSR are not planning a supplement (any official
word??). If they are, then the Free City of Ilien

    >3) Management

At least one (preferably 2-3, with one a TSR rep if possible) overall
    moderator(s).

Rather than dividing city up into holding types, might I suggest something
    a little more sensible. eg.
    * Magical - temples (separate?), magic college, rogue mages...etc
    * Military - guards, defenses, military units, mercenary guilds,
    bounty hunters...etc
    * Underworld - thieves, spies, smugglers, assasins guilds...etc
    * Trading network - merchants, markets,...etc
    * Entertainment - theater (suggested already), taverns (like
    Darkstar's), red light district...etc
    * Water - inl harbour, boating...etc
    * Public Works - buldings, roads...etc
    * anything else??? - like the imperial herald's HQuarters,
    museums....etc

I think we should (temporarily) stop sending ideas to the list until we
figure out how we will organise the 'building' of this city.

keep those ideas so they don't get lost,

Definitly a resource. Although there is no reason why you can't have
some fun roleplaying while you are working on it.

I was thinking something more along these line too. Perhaps with one
person organising each section and then someone to oversee everything.
And I will be the scribe.

I have been saving what I think should be kept, just in case.
