Anuirean Culture (repost)
Forgive me if you've seen this before, but I never got any response
about it, and it was sent when the server was acting flakey so I
thought I would repost it.

Might as well ask this now so I'm not surprised later....
Are you going to go in depth about the various cultures? I see
Birthright as a world where the flavor is everything. Finally there
is a detailed world where it is more interesting to play a human
character than one of the freaky, but novel demi-humans. I never
played Dark Sun, but it seems to me that part of the appeal of that
game was the opportunity to play a Thrikreen, Half-giant or
cannibalistic Halfling. In BR, the non-humans are considerably rarer,
and the Human cultures far more detailed.
Except for the Anuireans. I don't know how it is you managed to do a
better job with the other areas but leave this one full of holes, but
you did. I suspect it was because Anuire got sandwiched into the
original boxed set and the cultural information got slighted to make
room for all the general world description and setting rules. Or
perhaps it was just that you did such a great job with the Khinasi,
Rjurik and Brecht (I haven't seen the Vos yet) areas that the
information on Anuire seemed pale by comparison.
So this is the long way of saying that I would really, really, really
like to see a detailed cultural write-up for Anuire. In particular,
things like a detailed Order of Precedence chart, both general and
specific.... Meaning, what was the ranking order of Anuire during the
height of the Empire, and what does it look like now. With a Baron
running a domain, and a Prince running another, etc., things are
pretty sloppy. How do people know who to bow to? Descriptions of the
major holidays that are on the calendar would be useful too. What do
they eat, how do they dress, etc., etc. I've stolen a lot of useful
information from other games (Pendragon especially) but I'd very much
like to see the official take on the Anuirean culture (and perhaps how
it differs from generic fantasy settings).
Oy.
Had to ask.
And while I'm at it... Could I prevail upon you to create a boxed
City of Anuire set ala Waterdeep for Birthright? Your description of
this city is pretty cool, but not exactly easy to create on the
fly....
