    mass assassination

Considering that this festival is a planned event it wouldn't be
impossible for the gorgon to forge a ley line to the province where the
spell is taking place and then cast realms spells like Mass Destuction or
Raze on the meeting place (hey, Bob, wasn't that mushroom cloud where all
    those kings went).
Alternatively if the festival has a religious meeting in some great
cathedral of some sort, the gorgon could raise an undead legion from the
cemetary surrounding it (Umm, Dad, I know you're dead, so why don't you just
    put the sword down...).
Finally, if the Gorgon is feeling particularly nasty (and we know he
always is) he could cast Warding on the province hosting the event thus
trapping all the regents and then over the course of the next few months
continually hit that province with a Death Plague until there is nothing
    left alive in there.

I remember someone saying a while ago about in their pbem the regents in the
game are all starting the game because the regents were assassinated. This
got me thinking and I am planning the same thing for my players next Sword
& Crown meeting of the regents. I think this is a juicy target, especially
for the Gorgon. Think of it, many Rulers away from home, kill many or all
and the domains would be in turmoils while everyone fights to be at the top
of each domain. Then, the Gorgon rolls in with his armies into the chaos.
My question, how would this mass assassination be accomplished? A team of
killers slip in at night killing one by one, or a massive bold 'day' strike
by marching troops thru the shadow world and coming out in the middle of the
    host regents castle/capital.
Any ideas out there or variants to the above scenario so i can wreak havoc!?
Remember, I want it to be within the Gorgons powers, feasible and scarry
    for the players! .

Heheheh. Here's one (but a bit devious). ;-)

    1. The Magi shrinks himself down very small (reversed Enlarge);

    2. He teleports into the center of the feast / council / sitting room /
whatever;making sure his is within 30' of as many Regents as possible.

    3. He casts Time Stop.

    4. He uses his wand of disintigration on as many as possible, being sure to
leave just enough time to open a Decanter of Endless water (to wash all the
'dust' all over with the rest of the dirt and grime on the floor) and then
    teleport away ASAP.

Its just a thought. Im sure you can come up with modifications. :)

It would depend on how violent and bloody you wanted your Gorgon to act. I
would think that he would want something very visual and brutal to set off a
new campaign of Terror. The idea is a spin off of Raymond E. Fiest's idea
    in "Daughter of the Empire"

    1) Have a mage under his power show up and pose as a servant when all of the
guests have arrived he uses a sending or similar magic to inform the Gorgon.

    2) The first night all of the guest have arrived use magic or the shadow
world to move a number of troops into the castle and begin the slaughter.

    3) After a few hours of blood-chilling screams and the murder of all or most
of the present scions collect up the dead troops of the Gorgon and move them
back through the portal with the live ones.

Morning comes around and when the town folk get the nerve up to go
investigate what happened during the night all they find are the slain
scions and there servants and guards. Rumors start or whatever else but
really there are few or no witnesses who can actually say what happened
inside of the castle and how some many people where mysteriously butchered.

Hm... I don't know if it's really the Gorgon's style. Besides, most if not
all, of those regents will have designated heirs. Their domains might not be
significantly weakened. And the Gorgon would have lost the opportunity to do
what he love; absorb more bloodlines, personally. However, awnshegh like
Rhoubhe or the Spider might be tempted to assassinate enemies near their
borders. These awnshegh are not concerned with "grooming" the nobles of
Anuire for their bloodlines as the Gorgon is.

    These are just suggestions, however.

Remember old Gorgo would have to physically be in the province where the
meeting was taking place for a whole month while he casts a realm spell. Now
I assume that Stone Face attracts a lot of attention where ever he goes. Thus
it wouldn't be too tough for the regents to find out he was nearby. They
could then send an army to disrupt his concentration and hopefully his realm
magic, or they could take this rare opportunity to confront him personally;).
Yeah, right- and probably add themselves to the long list of scions who've
    nourished Prince Raesene's bloodline.
