Questions, Normandy visa vis Fr
The English kings, from the Norman Conquest to the Hundred Years War were
both Kings of England and feudal vassals to the King of France. If the
English king asserted equality *in* France, as opposed to *with* France,
he would lose his feudal rights. The French king could offer up the
outlaw's lands to his loyal nobles and the English King would find himself
bereft of his French lands. Not a good idea.
