    Is this getting through?

I haven't received any mail from the list since soon after the catalog
message I posted (and I've posed a few other messages). Pardon me, but I
wanted to check to see if my messages were getting through.

Well, we're coming out with a revised edition of the Rulebook, Campaign
Setting, Atlas, etc. (everything from the basic set) in July, but we are
also reprinting a short run of boxed sets to tide things over until then.
They should hit the stores any time now. I've also heard there are online
distributors who have copies of the original edition.

I reiterate, if you have the original basic set, you will not NEED to
"upgrade" to the new edition--the rules will not change significantly, just
the presentation. There will be new material in the hardcover, but it won't
be stuff you desperately need to run a BR campaign--it'll just make things
    easier.

Doesn't this mean that sales of the hardback are going to be pretty low?
What with all of us on this list having a copy of the boxed set and all?

Well in my Birthright group we have 3 boxed sets between us... yet at least 2 of us plan
on buying the new book merely for convienence sake..

Here's one idea to help with selling the BR HC book. I know that at least at
my favorite game store they shrinkwrap everything. Keeps the material in
pristine condition, but is inconvenient if a customer want to see what's
inside. Unless, like the Alternity preview-only copy , they have a special
one just for people to look at--not for sale.

Any chance TSR might release a preliminary book that game stores like the
afore mentioned might get to display and drum up early interest? You can say,
"Well, you did it for Alternity..." ;)
