Hmmm...you mean a force or philosophy as defined in the Complete Priest's
Handbook, right? That's an interesting angle. Cerilian elves, being
immortal themselves, don't see any reason why they ought to prostrate
themselves before other immortal beings, but they /might/ actually respect
an intangible divine concept such as you describe. Maybe there's room for
the elven priest after all. Thanks for the thought.

    - ->Actually, I think that the elven relationship with mana
    - ->(meh-whatevertheheck) is close to "religion". They honor the land
    - ->itself through their use of magic. I don't see any need for anything
    - ->else for them.

When we now mention connection to the land, IMO druids are really closely
connected to the land (I have used this in some half made worlds which I have
used), so closely that they don't need a god/godess to worship. They would get
their powers from the connection with the land, when they cas spells they use
the eneriges loaded in the land. In same way could (it's all up to you) let
elves to have a limited access to druid class. One way to limit is to not
allow to highleveled spells, let say they can't use 3rd level spells. That
shouldn't be unbalacing to much as elves can become rangers, and they have
access to priestly spells 8or does people disalow this for elves without
giving them something else to balance them?).

    - ->maybe even evocation/invocation if the DM feels that to be appropriate.

As those really are priest spells it can be a bit "unbalancing" to let mages
to use priest spells. So here is a small suggestion, which may give a cool
flauvor to the elven mages. Let us call it "earth magic", each magic using elf
has this ability, but it's only magic using elves (don't forget half-elves are
elves in this case) who know how to use it to the full potentional.

The Elf consentraits for 2rnds, not able to do anything else than move 1/3 of
the moving rate, and spends (150-2(int+wis)) experiense points to cast a spell
from the Animal, Plant or Weather sphere. Spellcasters gains no XP for casting
    thise spells.

None spellcasting Elves can only do thise once per day and never higher than
1st level spells. The effect of the spell is the same as a priest half of the
Elves level or HD rounded up.

A Spellcaster can replace a memorized spell with an "earth magic" spell of the
same level. The effect of the spell is the same asa priest a level lower
(level 1 spellcasters are counted as 1st level priest when casting them). The
spellcaster has the same wisdom requerment as priests has for 6th and 7th
level spells. By casting necromantic spells the highest leveled "earth magic"
spell decreases with one. E.g. Let say we have a third level mage, he can cast
2nd and 1st level "earth magic" spells, if he cast a necromantic spell this is
reduced to only 1st level "earth magic" spells, if he cast a second
necromantic spell he looses the ability. Let say he manages to become level 5
without casting any futher necromantic spells he will again be able to cast
2nd level "earth magic" spells (if he hadn't cast that spell it would have
been 3rd level spells). Once more he can cast one necromantic spell without
loosing the ability, but will become weeker user of it.

This gives the possibility for elves to use some nature related spells if
needed for a cost, see it as if the elf pays back to the land with his/her
lifeforce for the use of the magical force which is everywhere. This can be
limited in another way too, by not letting the elf cast higher leveled "earth
magic" spells than the source in the province where they are at the moment.

    Any comments are welcome.
