    Bloodline Investiture

Ok, here's a question, and some points about Bloodline Investiture.
pp56-57 in the Rulebook discuss this.

It seems to me rather unfair that an unblooded individual can gain more
benefit from this than a blooded individual.

For example, let's take me with my Tainted Reynir Bloodline with a
Bloodstrength of 5, our "Donor", a noted Southern Coast individual with
a Great Anduiran Bloodline with strength of 70, and an unblooded
commoner, who we will call "Bob".

Ok, in example one, our noted South Coaster has decided(for whatever
reason) to invest his bloodline to Bob. Ok, so they go through the
ceremony, and now "Bob" has the Great Bloodline, and all that goes with
it, including the 70 Bloodlinestrength. As to what happens to the
holdings of said South Coaster, that's another issue.

Now, if our South Coaster decided to invest me with his bloodline, I
would end up with a 7 Strength, and most likely still have a Reynir
derivation. Frankly, that's pretty ludicrous. There must be a law of
conservation that needs to go on here somewhere that kind of power can't
just disappear in one case, but be saved in the other.

I would suggest that somebody[hopefully at TSR] develops a more
realistic handling of this event for the upcoming Hardback BR Book.

Ok, a final quick question. Let's say I'm Scion of Reynir, with, oh,
let's make it a minor Bloodline with a 23 Strength, but unfortunately
have no holdings. Now, a Regent wants to invest me with some(or all) of
his holdings(he likes me for some reason), but from where do I get
Regency to have the ceremony performed? Am I exempt this first time
around? It seems a little strange to me that if our South Coaster from
above who has a domain power well over a hundred wanted to invest it to
the person running Ilien that it couldn't be done due to Ilien's lack of
Regency. I think this rule also needs some clarification, and/or
    revamping.

Here's a quick and dirty solution, based on some musings I had with
Darkstar earlier today on an entirely different topic: Invest your lowere
bloodline into your horse 1st, then get the South Coaster (good ol' D.A., I
knew he'd come in handy...) to invest you with his bloodline. Your horse
[or, better yet, your dog! hey, we're talking reynir, right?] is now
blooded [give him a holding or two, just for kicks], and you get the higher
    bloodline.

    1) the regency could be donated by the dude who is giving you his holdings.
    2) their's a rule somewhere (their are rules all over the place; I can't
wait for the hardback that will gather 'em all up) that not only allows a
"1st timer" to be invested like this, but to create a holding to start a
realm. Can't remember where I saw it (sorry), but, esentially, you're
"exempt" from the normal rules that 1st action (meaning that your realm
will be weak as a kitten at 1st, and you'll be lucky to acumulate enough
regency to rule up your new holdings, but no one said founding a new realm
    would be easy!)

    hello, Adam Theo here,
aha! a job for my problem-solving grey cells!
hmmm....if a truely willing scion is giving his BL to an unblooded
person, then the unBLd person gets a BL= double as if he were blooded
and committed bloodtheft on the scion, to a maximum of the former
    scion's BL. Bob gets a BL of 4 (2 times 2), or 2 times 1/5 of the
scion's bloodline if he is the last of his line. the same for a already
blooded benefiter, but he adds his current total to the amount.
    how's this?

    Bloodline Investiture

The whole thing about bloodline investiture is this.

If you are invested, you gain the investor's bloodline and score if you
have less power than he does (this includes non-blooded also)

It works like bloodtheft if you happen to have more power

    IE. you get 1 point

The bit about "investing your horse" isn't necessary.
