IMHO, this modification above 18 is fine as long as it is not abused. I have several PC in the group I am a part of who like to make super-characters, and this can cause problems. For instance, all non-blooded rogues come from the Brecht area, all warriors from the Vos area, priests are of course from Anuire. This way they can help their prime attribute the most. Add this in w/ the player's option series of books, and it is possible for the characters to get one god like attribute. I find this abuse of the system an unjustice (one that I in part allowed I know), but in the end most of these super-characters die due to their dependance on one ability, so I guess this is why I allow it. Ha,Ha,Ha!

As a word to the wise, however, never try to GM with a group that consists entirely of former GM's. Everybody thinks that they know everything, and everybody's interpretation of the rules is different. Major Bummer!
