    Gorgon`s Alliance

Q: What effect do you get when a province is rebellious in the game? I've just
made 4 of the gorgons provinces rebell.

Q: Who do you get more blood abbilities? I've gotten the crown witch give
+20(30)bloodpoints but I didn't get any new abbilities.

Q: What do you do when you earn way to little RP and way too mutch money, even
with buying the army? I've got a little bit over 1000GB in the tresury that I
    just cant get ridd off.

Otherwise the Gorgon's Alliance is an exelent game!

I've been enjoying the game myself. The graphics are good, but not
fantastic. But this seems to be a good thing as the game devotes most of its
energy to the AI, not pretty pictures. The "Adventures" are alright. I was
tougher on them when I first started playing the game, but I've warmed up to
them now. Its worth its low price tag, and it is a good approximation of a
BR game. Although it is way to "high magic" to be a real BR game.

P.S. - If you get the game, keep an eye on Sierra's website for patches and
upgrades(free for the taking). The Character Editor is very cool.

    Some Answers

    1) To have characters go up in levels you have to use the Adventure
Action a LOT. I am running Ilien with Rogr Aglondier & He has gone up 3
    levels so far.
To Learn new spells, you must again, Adventure, there are Mystical Tomes
you can locate & use to learn new spells - including Realm Spells.
    2) To Fly, you need to hold down the A key to gain altitude & just let
    it go to lose altitude.
3)You cannot search dead bodies, to open doors you need to walk right up
to them & press the SHIFT key, and to look for Secret Doors - the only
methods I've found are to look at the Map for "Missing " areas & then
walk along the walls around that area pressing the SHIFT key a lot
(Though secret doors are SUPPOSSED to look slightly different to the
    rest of the walls).
    4) To destroy Skeletons, use the Diplomacy or Lieutenant(Create) actions
to get a Priest & use his Turn Undead skill - treated as a spell in the
game which really sucks. Chaos is the uncontrolled things such as
    bandits, raiders, etc.
    5) You can't, even if they are a vassal, they'll still send assassins,
another annoying part of the game. The reason you can't use diplomacy
with some realms, is that it's regent has already been
Assassinated/Killed and the game doesn't appoint replacements.
6)You can only kill a regent with the Assassinate part of the Espionage
Action, they will ALWAYS miraculously escape from the battlefield, no
    matter how crushing their defeat.

As fr the rulebook, Sierra maintain a much more detailed version at
their website which you can access.

    Hope this helps a bit

I am not sure. If you have troops there the Spider should not be able
to invest the province. I can only suggest that your brother takes a
couple of actions and takes control of every holding in that province.
Either by getting the holding owner to swear fealty(giving you the
holdings) or by occupying your province(this will only drop everyones
holdongs to 0) or by contesting everything(this gets rid of all claims
of their's on holdings in your realm)If that doesn't work then take out
the Spider. My opinion occupy the province and he will not be able to
even attempt to invest it and then take total control over your
province. Make sure you have the law holdings first. As for the
raising of elven units, this can only be done in elven lands. Those
with the game starts out as elven, not the newly conquered one.

    I hope this helps.

The Gorgon's Alliance is a computer game based on Birthright put out
by Sierra (it's only been out a month). It is designed for IBM
compatibe PCs. It is good game, which incorporates the Domain, battle,
as well as adventure aspects of Birthright. It is not perfect, but it
is fun. There are plans to put out later versions and sequals. For
example, the current version is based only in Anuire and has no seaborn
activities or the Shadow World. Neither does it have bloodtheft or some
of the other things we have come to know and love. Future versions wil
have these incorporated as well. It is still fun to pay, though.

It is a bug. It happened to me. I defeated an army of the gorgon's
when he invaded Tuarhievel (I attacked Markazor so I could invest the
provinces between me and the Sielwode so I could go and give help).
Every time the Gorgon tries to interfere, I've placed a ley line into
the middle of his territory and just let rip with raze and death plague
spells...keeps him busy. In any case, one unit of his survived,
retreated to one of my provinces with 8 units of mine in it already, and
then promptly started trying to invest, even after I'd killed it. It
    seems to have stopped now.

This is a great game. Yesterday I put a ley line into Kal-Saitharak
and razed the whole castle....he he he. And I've found mages with
fireballs or necklaces of missiles work REMARKABLY well against skeleton
    units...:)
