I agree, it doesn't really matter much, as long as BR survives in some
reasonable form. However, the cool thing about BR, is it attracts a whole
different audience.
If they go with BR being just another setting like GH or FR, it will
only attract people that currently play AD&D. And not even many of them,
for they already have hundreds (if not thousands) of supplements set in the
FR and GH.
BR, on the other hand, attracts people from outside the D&D playing
community. Wargamers for instance, and people like me that got tired of the
standard style of AD&D.
Like if (when?) WotC/TSR makes a campaign setting for AD&D set in the
world of Magic The Gathering. I think most AD&D players will ignore it,
BUT, M:TG players will pick it up.
