    maximum number of holdings

    From John Campbell:
    >What determines the maximum number of holdings that one character can
    >control?

Nothing in the rules prevents a character to have all the holdings on the
    map if possible.

One thing you have to consider is the cost/benifits ratio. Domain
maintenance costs (RB, p. 45) go up with the number of holdings one has.

Another is competition. The more holdings you have, especially if they are
of different types, the more other regents will contest them, knowing you
can't defend them all effectively. This is especially true when the
character's total holding levels reaches his bloodline score; additionnal
holdings don't give him additionnal RPs each turn. He has a largest domain
to control, but the same number of RPs per turn to defend it.

Eventually, one must stop expansion when further growth would mean a
weakening of the whole structure. It's then time to fortify, make trade
route and ley lines (as appropriate to holding types).

As far as I know there is no limit on the number of holdings a character
    can control.
However characters will not be able to recieve regency points after the
domain score passes their bloodline strength. After that it is best to
create vassels and get them to pass on the regency they recieve to you.
