It is a good idea if you are playing the Gorgon who believe himself to be the rightful emperor of Anuire and the Anuirean regent to be little more than rebellious lords who fail to recognise his claim to the throne (as I have done in the past).

A Gorgon who thinks that way could very well try to stop foreign invaders of HIS realm, but he may also try to annouce his actions in an attempt to lure Anuirean rulers onto his side.

After all this time, he may be getting a little odd and full of himself
(near immortality may not sit well with a race -originally human - that
is not designed for it) as to if he is capable - his spy network is out
there and to quote BR:tGA, "..his agents are spread throughout Anuire,
spreading seeds of dissent..". Any war or other major happening, he
should know of first and it shouldn`t be to hard for him to subtly
organise a mess up of supply lines, scrambled information, camp
diseases, etc to hinder or even stop a war before it has begun.
A pleasant way to increase player paranoia. ;-)

what had happned was my players were kings in the giant downs. and they wanted to invade oter lands to get more territory. as long as they stayed away from human held Anuire they were fine. but as soon as they looked south they were stoped from the Gorgon.

Why would he not wait until they beat each other to a pulp and then finish off the remnants?
