Hello, a series of related question has just come up in a game I am playing in - with AD&D 2nd Ed. rules.

"Are the effects of blood abilities magical? Can their effects be detected by detect magic? Operate within an Anti Magic barrier? Can their effects, such as fear or charm, be dispelled by dispel magic?"

We scoured the books in search of some reference that would point us one way or another, but found surprisingly little pointing in either direction. What's your opinion? Have you ever seen some "official" ruling on this?

    Aba

I'm not sure about 2nd edition, but in the BRCS rulebook, it states that blood abilities are subject to spell resistance, will not work in an anti-magic field, and can be dispelled. So I guess that the answer to your questions is yes in all cases.
