    Well here is another one with a Germanic tongue. I`m Norwegian, and I
    fell into using the hard C when I first started pronouncing it...

    And i am from another germanic language, we use the soft C..... actually i never anyone pronounce it as a hard C.

    not that it is any help though, but a few years ago i created a pronounciation guid in flasf, spoken by R. Baker.. (unfortunately cerilia isnt on the list)

    i pronounce Couranys, and Cariele with a hard C though..

    i'll ask Rich how he pronounces it.

    Well, who am i to oppose Rich? :)
    I always thought the S sounded nicer (less harsh perhaps), but that K was the proper way. It is nice to know, however, that this `basic' question required going to the top dog for the final answer. :)
