I`ve always preferred to think of Anuire as the Holy Roman Empire,
myself, in the times when it lacked an Emperor (such as the interregnum
    in 1250-1272).
    ---------
I would guess so, mayhaps... Problem is, I`ve always seen the names as
psuedo-French, with a few English parts thrown in, and I have always thought
of the Holy Roman Empire as being German, not French, Italian, Spanish, or
    even Latin...

Well, I consider the political structure and culture more important than
mere language. Politically, Anuire is very close to Holy Roman Empire.
