How much would you say the standard ransom would be to recover a regent?
Suppose Ghoere captures Ibn Daouta in a war, how much would be appropriate
    to ask for his return?

Hmn, as a regent of G., I would claim some domains or otherwise political influence.

Money alone is boring, but maybe 2 GB are OK.
my purpose is now to lead you into the Pallace where you shall have a clear and delightful view of all those various objects, and scattered excellencies, that lye up and down upon the face of creation, which are only seen by those that go down into the Seas, and by no other....

In real life, about a year`s income was common. In many cases more. In BR,
I`d say less, because the timescale is so accelerated. One truns income,
    perhaps?

If Ghoere had captured the regent in a war, I think Ghoere wants something special. IMO 2 GB are O.K., but the regent of Ghoere would take something better, may be a province or a powerful magical item...

The 2E Birthright rulebook gives a guideline on p. 93:
"A ransom equal to 1 GB per character level or per province of holding
ruled by the captured character is fair."
