I've often thought about how humans (perhaps even Dwarves) can rule their provinces up quite frequently...but elves not so...

That is really the only way Blaede's "evil" is known: he is ruthless in his dealings; but fair at the same time. He employs goblin mercenaries too. His Priest Advisor knows full well his dark side...

Nightshade is probably one of the most powerful magic items in the campaign.

The major sticking point for Blaede is the mother that the DM has worked out for him: Tara the Black Princess. She is a major factor and might want to be "in charge" of rearing any children for her...

She isn't too old, she is a Half-Elf after all. She likely looks as young as Blaede easily.

Edit:

Born in 515 she is only 37 or so at the time of my game. For a Half-Elf she is still a relative...

The only way we have ever played it is that a character would essentially have to Divest their blood into someone else. Having done that, they are then unblooded and free of any taint from Azrai.

I have thought a bit about Tuornen and how it sits in a horrible position in re. the two major powers on its border, the Elf and Alamie...not to mention having Endier to contend with at least...

The closest I ever came to "winning" was playing an Elf Monarch of Lluabraight. His name was Caelcormac and he was a Fighter/Wizard.

I constantly used my first Realm Spell to Ward all my borders...

The way I see it, the only direction for Alamie to truly go is North into the Five Peaks and maybe then against Thurazor...although two provincial conquests in The Five Peaks can result in a border...

Bog Iron isn't always found strictly in bogs, though it is most common there. Anywhere still water accumulates on a regular basis is enough as long as there are "hard water" springs.
