View Full Version : PCs as minor nobles

PCs in my live-session campaign will soon be awarded an estate for
helping in war. I plan to give them a law holding and a province in the
realm they helped. My problem is what domain rules to apply to this.

As we already know, provinces and law holdings generate GB and RP, but
the rules cover only the part the goes to the liege lord, the overall
ruler of the realm. It is only a part of true taxation, and the other
part logically goes to the local noble who administers the land. My
question is what part of taxation and RP income would go to my players?

When I use multiple levels of lords like this, the minor lord gets half RP
and half the GB he would if he were a regular ruler. The high overlord (so
as to have barons and dukes as vassals) gets half the RP of all his vassals.

This is the reason I`m working on my generic domain system. It will be
able to handle scales as small as individual towns and cities, and be
alot more granular than the boxed set rules. I just posted my latest on
the system today, under "Theo`s Generic Domain System - update". Check
it out and give me your feedback. Within a couple of weeks I`ll have
that part finalized and will be defining domain actions.

I introduced the manor (badly named but still) holding to cope with this
sort of problem. But you knew that already, didn`t you?
