i have made some updates to BRnet again

- menu and other blocks are now also visible on the forums
- menu has 2 links to portal pages (BRCS & D20
Both pages have their own searchbox, able to search to the BRCS or the SRD itself

as you probably have noticed, a few days ago i have created a new template called navbox.
i have now manipulated the navbox so it can be used for domain tables as well.
i have created a sample page at http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php?title=Dhoesone

the documentation of the templates should be sufficient
http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php?title=Template:Navbox
http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/Template:Navbox_with_columns_rows

but should there be any questions, dont hesitate to ask.

Overall very happy.

but

with pop tags and br wiki tags on one side, and the amazon advert and site nav on the other, the actual 'active' column in the middle can get squashed.

would it be possible to have these boxes scrunch onto the top leaving the middle column to spill over onto the right?(especially if minimised) and widen the middle column?

Is the site nav box actually needed? Maybe the easy fix would be to put amazon above the popular tags or below brwiki changes?

andy, whats your screen resolution?

mine is 1280*1024 and the middle doesnt get really squashed.. well its about 280px smaller due to the sidebars, but its still very readable.

I sort of agree with Andy. If I want to see the changes for the wiki, I go to the top portal page (i.e. www.birthright.net). And I don't use tags for anything. If I want multiple threads relating to something, I'll use the search and select them myself. What I am after may not be the target of the thread, it might just be in one post, so tags won't always work.

So I would rather not have the tags and wiki changes on every forum page. After all, some forum mails need lots of space.

As for the site nav etc, I would keep that. I do use that and with the BR and D20 portals, we'll need it somewhere.

I think the "preordering" advert for Amazon needs updating though.

ps. My screen res is large but the browser only fills 3/4 of the screen. At a quick count, the forum mails are about 100 chars wide for me under the present scheme. If the right bars were removed, that would add another 30 chars.

1024 * 768, its readable but was a little narrow - now fine with the wiki tags gone - but I kindof liked those... (I know, never satisfied...)
