Hi all-

I never got to play Gorgon's Alliance, but was always curious about it. Can it be played on modern computers? I'm running Win10 on one system and Linux on another. Would it run, and if so, any quirks i need to know to make it work? Thanks!

I would suggest running it either in DOSBox or a Windows 95 virtual machine for the best compatibility. I doubt it would run in Windows 10, but I haven't taken the time to test it.

If you want to be able to use some of the "modding" utilities, I think Windows 95 is the better option.

It's a bit late at this point, but I managed to get this running on Windows 10 and wrote up the instructions (https://www.kiranwelle.com/birthright).

I also saved it to the Internet Archive (https://web.archive.org/web/20210120043509/https://www.kiranwelle.com/birthright) in case it ever disappears.

Edit: Updated with multiplayer setup.

well done, thanks :D

My understanding is the game was reasonably received, but very niche, and that sierra wanted to focus on mass-market games, but that could just be my nostalgia goggles talking ;)

Now if we can just get it working under Linux... heh.
