During our campaign time we have come upon several interesting stories of some PCs and NPCs. In our storyline at 1583 HC Central Anuire has united into a coalition forging a reformed Empire under the guidance and support of the son of Lord Kalien (he was never a half elf in our timeline) who married wisely the daughter of Archduke Heirl Diem, claiming the throne of Diemed, blah, blah, blah. Lets not focus on this. On the Boeruinean side the heir of the Archducal throne never agreed to enter the coalition and the so called Empire and waged a civil war that holds for up to 8 years so far. Boeruine has taken much ground to the west. After a grand naval battle and a siege that occured right after the young heir to the throne of Avanil has been taken prisoner by the archduke, held as an ace in his sleeve. On the other hand the lords of Avanil seeing the Boeruinean forces down to their neck at the crossing of Coere after a 6 month stand still have laid and executed plans of counterattacking their enemy and if possible crippling the forces of the attacking archduke. Here is the story as it is written of the Battle of Coere.

Great stuff!

In my campaign, we also have a unified Anuirean Empire (the Avans won and added the name "Roele" to their own), so I can relate to your story.

I'd be really interested in knowing more details about the characters "living" these stories, like class, level, bloodline, and so on.

Not sure if your players prefer to keep such things a secret, but I thought I'd ask anyhow.

Once again, great stuff!

Thanks for the good words there friend.

The people mentioned in the Counterattack story are all Non player characters involved in the world we have. Only one character mentioned slightly is a former player, Alexander Katleaf and he is a 4th level fighter, the rest are up to your imagination. Most of our details since we have tons of stuff already online can be found here.

In our universe nor the house Avan nor the house Boeruine managed to hold the power to the Iron Throne, hence a third power with some prestigious influence and with a LOT of gold managed to climb to the Iron throne while he secured the survival of the offsprings of the Prince of Avanil after his death. Boeruineans on the other hand had other issues and being so far away from the throne itself was easier to push them aside, hence they revolted to such a decision. There are many more to it of course but there is a lot of intrigue, player involvement and role playing.

I need to mention here that players mostly play characters in the shadow of Regents and Kings, it is not unheard of to have a player who makes it to the throne, or claim one, but in such rare cases we makeshift with the player so he can continue to role play.

There is a very nice story on the blog about the death of the former king of Boeruine and how Edric inherited the throne of Boeruine, this was played tottaly second by second from players and all events there were role played.

Really like your style, and I love that you find the time and the inclination to write everything up as a "novel".

My blogs are mostly recaps of the events happening during our sessions, so players can refresh their memories before play... :)
