What would the banner of the ancient gods be?

I'm toying with the idea of having my own little Game of Thrones in Cerilia, and I thought I would have 7 Great Families, each one tied to a bloodline, contending for the Iron Throne

I based myself on the colours of the Bloodstones for the field, and the totem animal of each god.

For example:

Line of...
Anduiras - Golden Lion on Red Field
Azrai - Green Serpent on Black Field
Basaia - White Eagle on Yellow Field
Brenna - Black Cat on Orange Field
Masela - Silver Dolphin on Blue Field
Reynir - Grey Wolf on Green Field
Vorynn - (Black? or Purple?) Owl on White Field

Next would be to come out with a Family Motto for each line...

The other obvious source would be the colours and symbols of the current gods - I suspect that they simply re-labelled all the old rituals and accoutrements of worship rather than re-inventing them all after Diesmaar.

Yes, I kept an eye on the colours of the "living" gods, that's why I'm undecided about Vorynn's owl colour... I might go with Purple in honour of Ruornil.

Anyone knows a source where I can find the "family" name of the True bloodlines of each ancient god?

I'm supposing the house of Roele is the "true" Anduiras bloodline, but what about the others?

Azrai has several true bloodlines, one of which is also a Roele of course.

Al-Arrasi may have had a true bloodline of Basaia - I can't think of another candidate.

I had Wulf Danig for Brenna in PS Danigau, and (to show I have no imagination), Ragnar the Bold for Erik in PS Dhoesone.

I wonder about Uvna Farzeb for Vorynn.

I suspect that none of the survivors had a true bloodline, except perhaps Roele, but that Roele may have strengthened his bloodline significantly by conquering the known world to become true even if he started as great.

I ran into the same problem trying to indentify the "True" bloodlines. Unfortunately, they don't really identify the bloodlines except for the Awnsheglian in Blood Enemies.

Rhoubhe Manslayer is True (Elf)
The Serpent is True (a Masetian)
The Gorgon is True (Pre-Roele, he's not actually a Roele, that was his half-brother).

The Roele's descendents are most likely a True line since his brother ascended as a god and Roele himself, absorbed a lot of the essence of Anduiras.

I agree with Andrew's assessment regarding the Danig's.

I don't think El-Arrassi was present a Deismaar. One of his ancestors might have been.

whups, I'd make some quack attempt to try to describe the family name change from Andu to Roele as a mere re-labeling but honesty forces me to admit that I just got that one wrong :o

Sigh, I missed Maseta, I'm clearly going senile. I suspect that her champion was killed by one of the great beasts or Aduria raiders before the fleet even reached Deismaar, but given the catastrophic losses I suspect that there is no Masetan true bloodline - although it does beg the question of where her essence went without a champion to empower (beyond Nesirie anyway).

I'd be willing to advance the idea that the pre-Serpent was a champion of Masela before he became corrupted in some fashion.

What real life culture are the Masetians based on?

Take your pick - Graeco-Egyptian, Phoenician, Persian or other exotic, lost and/or maritime culture.
