I've been toying with running that module for my group (with
modifications).

I think for the Duergar I decided to use Dwarves who were mutated by
their exposure to the Chaos (giving them the abilities of,
coincidentally enough, Duergar).

The module leans pretty heavily towards Dwarves....

More disturbing are some of the other creatures lurking about... Mind
Flayers, etc.

Question:

I want to set Gates of Firestorm Peak in my BR Campaign, but the module
is full of Dugar (Duegar? - I have suddenly forgotten the correct
spelling). BR does not have these creatues. Any suggestions as what to
replace them with? Orogs maybe?

Birthright dosnt really describe the underground very well, so its
very possible that Duegar could be down there somewhere.. I can even
picture drow, although diffrent than the ones in the monsters
manuel..

Have none? Have none???

I still haven't seen any news of waht I can find in the shadow world, how
can we know what exists and what doesn't?? In any case, there is stil a
small difference of power between the Duegar and the Orogs. If you start
using Orogs, you will have to study the Orog's expanse through Cerelia and
decide where to put it, but beware, it wouldn't go well in such places as
the Gorgon's crown.

I think that the Gates of Firestorm peak is well suited for BR. You can
try inserting a mix of creatures (counting Orogs) everywhere.

You can also modify the intelect of certain creatures to make them smarter
or dummer, that always gets my characters. Meeting a Troll reading in a
library, or fighting a dragon wich never listens to reason (Cerelian
Dragons have a tendency to ignore humans and demi-humans, even when they do
make sense).

Well, I know for a fact that they are going to be coming out with an
expansion set for the Shadow World, at least all indications thus far point
in that direction. At GenCon I know you can sit in a seminar that will
discuss the Shadow World, and what people would like to see in it, and what
not.

I used this module in my campaign with great sucess, I saw no reason to
change anything, actually...the PCs didn't recognize the "giants" as
Duergar, but if yours think they do, you can call them whatever new
creature you want. I found in my campaign that the special abilities of
the Duergar were necessary to give the PCs a challange (they we the
"proper" level for the adventure, but a lot of it could have been a
cakewalk). Just thought some of my experiences could be some help to
you...good luck!

I've seen the module, but havn't given it any serious thought. I herd that
it comes with new CharSheets for Player's Option, how are they? if any
good, then would be of great use.

ALSO, IT SEEMS THAT I'M NOT GETTING SOME THINGS FROM THE MAILING LIST
LATELY! FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS I HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY DIGEST VERSION! AND
MESSAGES FROM THE NORMAL MAIL LIST HAVE BEEN LOST WHEN GETTING TO
ME....PLEASE TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG IF THIS REPLY EVEN GETS OUT THERE!!!
MAYDAY S.O.S.!!!

The character sheets are pretty good. There's certainly plenty of
information on them and room for the spell point section, the different
subabilities, etc. I recommend them. Mind you, I use my own version I
had done up months prior to GOFP, and it includes a section for blood
abilities, etc. However, if I was to run a non-Birthright Player's
Option adventure, I'd use the ones at the back of GOFP.
