I was playing the BR demo and found it strange that i defeated the
gorgon in two domain turns with the elven kingdom near the gorgon's
crown(forget name :) in two battles... 1 with one unit of gnolls, the
second with about 5 units of dwarven archers and the gorgon.. i had
about 8 elven cavalry and a ton of infantry... what do you think of
this?

Yes. There are two demos for the Birthright game. The first was just a
slide show, and you could not do anything. The new one (which you can
get at sierra's website), you can actually play. You are limited to 10
turns, and the battle and adventure parts are not available.

The demo does have a 10 turn limit, but I did not notice it missing any
diplomacy actions, or spells. If you play the game on Expert level, you
have access to everything except the end game, and battles and
adventures. You can cast realm spells, and none of the diplomacy is
turned off.
