I am new to the Birthright Discussion list, but I have a question, I do
not know if it has already been addressed.

Lets assume for a moment that I do not want to be a blooded character,
but want to be a Baron. How can I effectively rule a Kingdom (barony) (w/
the birthright
rules) without Regency? Only blooded characters get regency. Surely a
normal
person would be able to run a kingdom. Why did the people who made the
game
leave this out? Sure, one could say you should just make your own rules,
but
why would they leave something like this out in the first place?

Also, I recently downloaded the Sierra demo of Birthright (something of the
Gorgon).
And from what I saw, it had the potential to rule, but the demo really
sucked.
Not only that, but Sierra has a reputation for making poor games.
Hopefully
Sierra will redeem themselves with this game. What do you guys think of
the demo?

Thanks,

Because the game is about a world ruled and shaped by Blooded characters,
characters infused with the divine essence of the gods. Because a Blooded
ruler mops the floor with an unblooded one. Because it is their right to
rule. Live with it.

Sierra games aren't that bad... Who can forget the adventures of
Roger Wilco (The Space Quest Series), or the Kings Quest games. I wasted
some of the best years of my life playing those!

As far as I can tell nothing stops non-Blooded characters from gaining RPs.
They mearly collect RPs based on thier Holdings, and Provinces, without
comparing them to a BL score. In my game I also cut thier RPs in half to
represent the greater control Blooded characters have over thier subjects. I
may be totally wrong here. Maybe one of the all knowing designers can answer
this question for us. How about it folks?
