Its been a long time since I saw the stats for Blackrazor. Thats from The
Village of Hommlet(sp?), or Keep on the Borderlands, isn't it? In any case
my suggestions may be a little redundent, or flawed, thanks to that. If I
remember correctly Blackrazor imparted some of the drained life essence into
the wielder, in the form of HPs. A lot like Stormbringer from the Elric
saga. So I would suggest treating like a form of "super-Tighmaevril",
granting the entire BL value to the wielder, and/or granting permanent HPs.
Prehaps 1 per level of the victim. I would tend toward the HP boost, because
the BL drain would quickly get ridiculous. The wielder should still gain 1/2
of the BL score, as per normal Tighmaevril, and get the HPs as a bonus. Of
course Blackrazor has a mind of its own, and whats not to say a BL of its
own. It could the HP bonus, and only 1/4 of the BL score tp the wielder,
keeping the other 1/4 for itself. With its increased strength it could exert
more control over the wielder, and make him hunt more blood, although in
time the draind BL would leech out of the sword making it hunger constantly,
or else it will grow weak. The wielder should also slowly gain some form of
insanity. The constant battle of wills with the sword would be taxing, would
be draining. Then there are the times when his defense slips, like when he
must finally sleep, and the sword commits unspeakable acts, with his body.
Eventually anyone would lose thier mind. Blackrazor is a nasty little sword,
most folks of good alignment would stay clear of such an obviously foul
item, but there are always those who think they can harness an evil power,
and use it for good. Most of the time they are wrong.
