There's certainly nothing wrong with your approach to playing the
Birthright NPCs, but I personally find it more interesting to have as many
as possible controlled by people who are generally concerned for their well-
being. While a DM may dictate NPC actions to fit his idea of the campaign,
other players will be looking out for their own interests. IMO, this makes
the political situation much more realistic. But in many cases a DM doesn't
have this luxury.

RE: The newsletter/webpage. All these ideas are really great! I'm getting
psyched. ;) The only problem -- we can't legally put it up as a webpage,
unless we are officially liscenced by TSR. I'm sure they would give us
space on MPGN or the new official site, if we asked, but it might be better
to leave things in newsletter form, at least for now. Unless someone wants
to contact TSR about it . . . which would be really cool, but might take a
REALLY long time to get resolved.

That would be best, but where I am it is hard to get enough players for my
main campaign. I did for a while also have a second Birthright campaign
running as well but that has stopped for the moment as all my players have
gone back home for christmas holidays. What I have done with my campaign is
plan out most of what is going to happen for important NPC realms, so when my
players affect the world around them I have something planned for them. Or you
can just make it up as you go along, thats always fun.

MPGN is a bit of a mess to search through, I think if a newsletter/webpage was
going to be made on a TSR site it would be best of their new "official" site.
There is even a play put aside for submissions.
