Novels:
War (in paperback)
The Shadow Stone by Richard Baker. About Aelies Morren.
Siege by Simon Hawke. Sequal to War.
Aquitania by Lynn Abbey

Campaign Expansions:
Tribes of the heartless Wastes. (vos) November.

Sourcebooks:
The Book of Priestcraft: August.

Domain Packs:
Hogunmark. Febuary.

Adventures:
King of the Giantdowns. May.

That's it!

WHAT!!!! I'm a might peaved. 1 Domain pack. 1 sourcebook, 1 adventure
and 1 accessory. What is going on that we get so little support!

Last year we had: 2 Settings (Rjurik and Havens), 1 Accessory (Book of
Magecraft), 2 Adventures (Hero-kings and Sword of Roele) and 6! Domain
Packs.

Can someone in the know please comment. Is this great setting dying?

Settings:
Dark Sun (seems to be dead)

Forgotton Realms: (This Is the flagship though)
Accessories: 4
Modules: 4
Campagin Expansions: 2

Planescape:
Accessories: 3
Modules: 2
Campaign Expansions: 0

Ravenloft:
Accessories: 0
Modules: 4
Campaign Expansions: 1

So overall there is one less for Birthright than the others.
The thing that distresses me most though is the lack of Domain Packs.
They haven't done any from The Havens yet.

How does it compare to the other TSR settings? Maybe TSR has reduced output
overall??

If it's kosher to disagree politely, then please allow me.

I'm sorry, but by the time the Book of Priestcraft comes out, the
player running a Priest in my campaign ain't gonna need it anymore, I
will already have had to practically design my own! 6 months! More,
actually, now that I think about it. It's just too damn long.
Likewise the Wizard's Spell Compendium. The thing must *already* be
complete and done, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to release the
first one. By the time Vol 3 comes out, the player who is playing a
Wizard in my Birthright camapaign won't need it! He will probably have
retired his character by then.

I grant you, a whole hell of a lot of stuff has come out for
Birthright. But 90% of it is Player's Secrets. No-one has that many
players! Let's be realistic. If you guys put out the book of
Priestcraft yesterday, I'll invent time travel and buy the damn thing!=20
What Birthright GM wouldn't?

Let me quote Rich Baker in his reponse to a similar outburst on AOL:

"Guys, believe me when I say that we want to get as much BR stuff as
possible onto the shelves. We're loaded with great ideas for this game
world, and we want do them all at the same time! Alas, the harsh reality
of marketing and profitability comes into play. It's very difficult to
give each and every one of our product lines the attention that we
(the people who work on each particular line) feel it deserves. We started
off Birthright at a dead sprint, but it's become clear that we want to
slow down and run for distance. In order to do that, we've got to ease
up on the pace.

"Not to make any promises, but you might say that a Shadow World story arc
is in the works. We can't talk about a 98 schedule at this point in time,
but I don't think you'd be disappointed. And, if I were a gambling man, I
might guess that Aduria might follow thereafter. Some of these are very big
ideas, deserving of an arc of related products, and we just don't have the
luxury of bringing out our biggest guns all at the same time."
