"What's "PBEM"?"

Play Be E-Mail. Basically, you play D&D by getting a message from your
DM, and sending him/her one back saying what you do. I've never done it
myself, but I underrstand ti stresses role-playing over combat.

Yes, and the BR "domain turns" lend themselves wonderfully to PBEM.

However, keeping track of all the intricacies of the campaign for the
players is one bear of a task. For six players, it takes me 3-4 hours to
process one action turn, and maybe 5 hours to process a tax turn. Ugh!

Well really it can stress either, but it is simpler for a DM to run the combat
by himself (the players don't roll the dice and make turn by turn decisions,
they just get to throw in imput when the DM feels like asking them). So thus
it is really boring to stress battle (and that just makes more DM work) and
besides, you don't get picked on for misprononcing "Anuire" :-)

So I have to ask: how do y'all pronounce Khourane?

We were calling it Kuh-RAW-nee. Then one of my smart-ass Anuirean players
said he was taking a diplomatic trip to Af-TAW-nee (Aftane). I said, you
mean, Af-TAIN?

He said, well, if you're saying Kuh-RAW-nee, you have to say Af-TAW-nee as
well.

UGH. I don't like the sound of Koo-RAIN. But it is pretty inconsistent,
isn't it? :)

Just wondering what you say.
