To all those who respond to Soviet's question re: Seneschal - be kind :).
I'm kidding of course, Seneschal certainly does have it's drawbacks - all of
which will be corrected in version 2.

Actually, I'm curious Soviet, when you said you finally got it to work, what
where you having trouble with? Was it the Setup (cause I have had a couple
of queries about this lately)?

well I exactly don't know...it just freezed in the Real creation process...after
a while I gave up upon it...yesterday I found I hadn't erased the setup file and
re-instlled it..and now it works fine....

I use Seneschal for keeping track of provinces and holdings, but it
doesn't do the math...yet...
It's a great tool, but it takes a lot of setup time when you first enter all
the information for your campaign. Maybe you can make a default database
with all of the provinces and holdings already there, Peter. That would save
a lot of time and make 2.0 easier to use right out of the gate--so to speak.
All you would have to do is change the holdings and stuff for your players'
realms instead of spending hours entering data on all the NPC realms plus
the player ones. Of course I wouldn't suggest such a monumental task without
offering to help... :)

I've also downloaded it and tried myself... and though I don't have time to
offer
any help I can promise I will use it if version 2.0 comes with the holding
levels
pretyped :) So I just cross my fingers someone will spare the time to do it...

boxed set and the various expansion already entered :)

Do you have any estimate as to when it will be released?

Yes it will certainly have a income/expenditure manager. As for an army
manager, yes it you can keep track of troops (location, maintenance,
statistics, etc) but Seneschal 2.0 won't have full blown WarCard battle
resolution - I'm making that into a separate program (which will include the
ability to use it across the Internet). However, you will be able to use
Seneschal 2.0 to resolve "Skirmishes" (as per the BR rulebook). For a more
complete list of what is going to be included in the new version, check out
my Website.
