TA doesn't mention it. In fact, the only place I can think of which
does is the Raven's description in Blood Enemies (although I've not
read all the novels). IMO it's the name given to the boundary between
the SW and Cerilia, rather like the Gauntlet in the World of Darkness
games, which can be strong (and hard to pass) or weak depending on
location, time, etc. etc. etc.

John.

"Once I was a lamb, playing in a green field. Then
the wolves came. Now I am an eagle and I fly in a
different universe."
"And now you kill the lambs," whispered Dardalion.
"No, priest. No one pays for lambs."

Tuar Annwn is in the Shadow World? Pardon, but I have not been able to find
TotHW in my local store. Their distributor stopped getting BR stuff when
the big boys dropped it...

So is TA like Siddeath in Tuarhievel? That one was hammered by a spell of a
very powerful wizard that killed everything in the province. There's been a
whole lot of speculation, but no hard info on how this being tapped the
barrier between the worlds.

So, did someone break the gap or did it just happen?

Imagine this for a campaign, (don't know how close it is to Essence of
Evil):
For some unexplained reason (to the players) the Shadow World begins to
merge with the real world on a very large scale. Entire provinces are
wholly subsumed and armies must be mustered to deal with plagues of undead.
For the melodramatic, the players could be the only hope for the world when
they are given a clue to the cause and set out to seek to eliminate it. If
that wouldn't be a task to set the Imperial Chamberlain on your side!

Anyway...

On a related topic, is there anything in TA mentioned about "the
Evanessence". It is mentioned as a source of magic and labeled the barrier
between the Shadow World and the real world. Aside from that there is
nothing printed. How can it be used? What the heck is it?

Thankx

The long and short of the story of Tuar Annwn is that a Vos army was about to
exterminate them some time ago. All of them. The the wizards of Tuar decided
to REALLY cut loose. It shredded the veil, unleashed horrible things and the
Vos invaders destroyed. Horrible things are said to live there now and it
appears that the kingdom may be caught somwhere between this world and the
Shadow world... The elves (reports from the raving madman or two who actually
have visited TA recently and lived) are apparently, tall and gaunt with
greyish skin. They appear to need to bathe themselves in a lake to maintain
their semi-existance.

Well, that's a taste (without having the book handy, and not have read it in
over 8 months).
