I'm starting up a new RL campaign now in a few weeks...and I was
wondering if anyone has had any problems with the rules or players that
I could avoid with some advice.... I am going to change the whole War
set of rules (mustering, maintenance, battles etc.) but anything else
you could point out for me would be great, or any war related "fixes" to
would be appreciated...Considering that some of the players are
wargamers and such I want to compile a list of rules changes before the
game starts properly... So any good house rules or the likes, bring them
on...

I always use the rule that an action gets a bonus on the chance of
success if it is spread over more action rounds (+1 per action round).
The action has to be done and paid at least once per turn, but the roll
for success is done when the player decides to strike. In certain cases
I do roll to see if something happens that will disrupt the action. For
instance one of my player is infiltrating a rival guild and trying to
conquer it from the inside. The ruler of that guild is dying, so she
also tries to gain in a position to become his succesor. Ofcoarse the
people of an other rival guild are doing the same... Anyway she has been
doing this for the last two turn (1/2 year game time) and would get a +6
bonus if she decided to strike now...
