Maybe this has been noticed before but in the Birthright Rulebook, page
22, table 12: Blood ability Aquistuion it lists Great abilities as
aquireable and majors common under 20-28. BUT under 29-35 it gives the
best chance for a minor and the highest possible is a major!

I think they were printed backwards. Did anyone else come to this
conclusion?

Yeah, you're right about TABLE 12: BLOOD ABILITY ACQUISITION in the BR
Rulebook on page 22. I think it was simply overlooked during the
design-phase of the rulebook. The percentages aren't evenly spread
throughout the table.

I changed the percentages in the table to even it out the chances:

Blood. d100 Ability
Str. Roll Granted
0-10 01-90 None
91-00 Minor
11-19 01-15 None
16-80 Minor
81-95 Enhanced to Major*
96-00 Major
20-28 01-10 None
11-35 Minor
36-45 Enhanced to Major*
46-96 Major
97-98 Enhanced to Great*
99-00 Great
29-35 01-05 None
06-40 Minor
41-50 Enhanced to Major*
51-85 Major
86-94 Enhanced to Great*
95-00 Great
36-50 01-05 None
06-15 Minor
16-25 Enhanced to Major*
26-60 Major
61-80 Enhanced to Great*
81-00 Great
51-80 01-10 None
11-25 Enhanced to Major*
26-50 Major
51-70 Enhanced to Great*
71-00 Great
80-00 01-50 Enhanced to Great*
51-00 Great

What do you think? It's not perfect but it works for my campaign.

That it works for your campaign is the only important thing :) I think
the table is fine, for mine, and believe the perceived inconsistency is a
game mechanic to keep characters from automatically receiving bigger and
better Blood Abilities as their scores rise. Again, though - its your
campaign, and whatever works for you :)

I just chalked it up to the designers wanting to put into the system a
"curve", so that Blood Abilites dont get constantly augmented at the same
rate of the Score. Personally, my own problem with the current list is all
the flipping through my poor, dog-eared book to see which randomly
determined powers go with each Derivation, so I'm trying to go through the
whole thing, and re-write Table 13 so that my players can roll on a
Derivation-specific Table, to save my Rulebook a little wear and tear :)
