This clerical spell really confuses me.

Standard convention, as I am aware is that a clerical spell that mimics a
wizard spell must be at least one level higher, or of reduced power. Yet
the mimicry extends to equal power of 2 (!) wizard spells, and there is no
increased level requirements. The only thing that might make up (?) is
that the material is a handful of 5 gp gems, some of which are pretty rare.

Any input anyone?

I don't have the books handy, but isn't it possible that the wizard spells
are in fact mimicing the cleric spell? It seems that this would be more a
clerical thing anyway, since bloodlines are derived from divinity. So,
perhaps the cleric spell was the original, the wizards tried to copy it but
couldn't with one spell, and had to use two spells to get the same effect.

Perhaps, since bloodlines came from the gods to begin with, the clerics
of the successor gods are much more capable of determining the derivation
than wizards are, who rely on non-godly means.
