Is joining RPGA the only way to get it? Or can we buy it some place? If
joining RPGA is the only way, do you have info on how to join?

I was just checking in (I've been on vacation) and wondering if anyone else
received their copy of HOGUNMARK in the mail (you did all join the RPGA
just to get this fine product, right?). Carrie Bebris has been asking me
for a review and I'm hoping you guys'll have stuff to tell her as well.

Contact them directly. While the RPGA is usually very good about making
sure their members get taken care of ASAP, you should probably call or
write them directly to make sure you are sent the HOGUNMARK domain sourcebook.

Yes, this is what I had to do to get them off their duffs and send the
thing - they were really nice about it though - it only took a week
later for me to get it. And boy, am I glad I spoke up!

Im NOT a member (didnt know I had to join to keep Birthright going...) One
of the players in my campaign IS a member, though, and he got his copy.
Never even bothered to LQQK at the thing. I know what to expect from you
guys, and I know its good. I DO have some questions, though, and I hope
you might be able to find the time to answer them...

1) The first few "Player's Secrets of..." were spectacular. However, Im
sure they were expensive, too. The "Hogunmark" product was distributed
(for FREE) to RPGA members, and Im wondering wether this was a promotional
thing or just an attempt to get rid of old stuff (junk).
By this, I mean - is BR getting swept under the rug? I SWEAR, I bought all
the stuff I could afford, Ed...

2) If you guys are going to continue to do "Player's Secrets of...", type
material, dont let it stray too far from previously released product. The
Paladin who is supposed to be the "Champion of Medoere" caused ALL kinds of
strife, a while back. We on the list are already arguing over "canon" LOL.

3) What are the chances of doing a "mail order" franchise, in case there
ARENT enough Birthright fans to keep the setting in business? You know -
sell the copies ahead of time, and, after you get all the orders in, quote
prices... ...yeah, I cn already see how well that will work.

4) HEY - put a LOT of effort into the "tactical wargaming" aspect of
Birthright. Right now, I would rather play Risk or Axis & Allies than run
a Birthright war. What you REALY ought to do, is a product called "Armies
& Warfare" (LOL) sorta fit right in with "Combat & Tactics", "Skills &
Powers", and "Spells & Magic". Im gonna give you my best shot, Mr Stark,
you tell ME what you think of it...

a) Recruitment
b) Organization
c) Renumeration
d) Specialization

well, to make a long story short - I think BR's weakest link is the
"tactical wargame" thing. Now that I have your address (unless you ask me
to do otherwise....), I will send you what few ideas I have.

I haven't had a chance to do much more than skim it yet, but I really like
the way it looks. It also looks to have much more politcal intrigue than
most of the other Domain books. I was ecstatic to get it in the mail!

First a note for Ed: I received the Hogunmark Players Secrets book on
Tuesday here in Western Canada and it is wonderful. The historical
information and the section on the way the various clans interact is
wonderful. The entire thing is very well done, definitely among those
Player's Secrets books which are great rather than the few which were
disappointing. I have all sorts of ideas from my first read through it of
how I can put it to use.

Carla, there is no big mysetery on how to join the RPGA whether from
Canada, the US or anywhere else. Pick up any copy of either Dungeon or
Dragon and there will definitely be subscription information inside it.The
insert has sections for subscriptions to Dungeon, DRagon and RPGA
membership. Or you can do as I did, which is go the the RPGA section in
the TSR site, them print out the mailorder membership form found there
andmail it to them. I seem to recall that if you gave crdit card info. you
could join online as well.
Good luck Carla.

There is a form on the web page. I filled it, send it and received a confirmation the following day. It seems -- at the time -- very efficient.

I wrote to customer service yesterday to ask what was happening with my subscription. No news yet (but I wrote at the end of the day so I willing to way until Monday to get an answer).

I received two copies of Hogunmark in the mail. I haven't had a lot of
time to read the stuff yet but I do like what I have seen so far, the
history and culture seems to be more in depth than the other
sourcebooks. PLEASE KEEP MAKING BIRTHRIGHT STUFF!!!!
