Cerilian Ships

Here is a chart for the different kinds of ships available in Cerilia.
There are several blank spots on the chart, specifically in the barge
and galley entries. Anyone have any ideas on filling the blanks, or
have any corrections?

THis is kind related, hense the similar title.

Does anyone have any ideas (or better yet, statistics) on Mastinean
ships?

In the PBeM I play in I am liberating the Mastineans. I hope to use
thier ship plans and stuff so that I can build ships from three cultures
(guess what doamin I play).

I want some ideas to give my DMs.

Well, based on the usual idea that the Masetians are based on the maritime
Greeks (for which there is a specific word which I cannot remember) and
the Phoenecians, I would say that the Trireme is appropriate. Doesn't CotS
indicate somewhere that the Serpent uses Triremes because of his
enslavement of the Masetian people? I suppose this could be more implied
than actually stated. I don't remember if there are stats for triremes
included in the ship rules, but I expect that they would be less seaworthy
than a longship, but have a higher rowing speed. Plus, they were generally
designed with and underwater ram that they could use to poke big holes in
enemy ships, thus sinking them. (Actually, it was not uncommon for the ram
to break off during such a combat, potentially leading to the sinking of
BOTH ships.)

Wouldn't happen to be Suiriene, would it?

IMC, the Masetians were a culture reminiscent of the ancient Greeks,
with a bit of Minoan and early Roman thrown in. The Masetian ships
were mostly oar-driven, with a few early sail-only vessels.

It would be really nice to have some statistics on the Masetian galleys
and such. Triremes, galleys, etc. etc. etc. in BR terms would be very
neat. As it it, Serpent galleys are said to have a ram, but the naval
war cards don't take this into account. Maybe this will be covered in
the re-release next year?

No, I'm afraid I don't. I am a lowly little computer user, basking in the glow
of the cathode ray, without so much as a website to call my home....

If someone would like to put it on their site, however, I'll gladly email it to
them. Just let me know how you want it formatted (which I can try to do) and
I'll send it off.

Actually, and I might be wrong, but I believe there was an article in Dragon
with ancient ships in it, including galleys and Anuirean Greatships. I added
the stats to my own charts (but don't have them with me or I'd give them to
you here). I think it was around issue #232.?. I'm sure someone out there
has seen it. Can you help me out with the issue number?
