Greetings all,

I was just wondering about what all cultural levels exist in Birthright?
Obviously the players/ Anuirians are Medieval, but what about the Vos and
Rjurik(sp)? Are the Khinasi in an equivelant of Medieval Times? What about
Orogs & Goblins? I'm guessing they would be considered medieval for
simplicities sake, but is there a known "backward" or "barbarian" culture that
is in the Iron Age or Bronze Age that players (that's me :-) would know about?
I was thinking about this when I was trying to figure out what the difference
is (game mechanic-wise) between bronze, iron and steele. Does anyone have a
to hit/ damage/ speed factor/ DP/ weight ruling? If so, I would appreciate
the information, especially if you can quote me the text and page #. Thank
you for your time.

Take care,
Kirby

There is a list in the campagin setting for the main races. But IMO the
area is to small to have dark ages to renecance (spl?). So I would say
late "dark age" for Vos/Rjurik/Goblins/Orogs, early "medieval" for
Anuir/Brecht/Khinashi/Dwarves and
late "medieval" for Elves when it comes to weapons and art.

I don't have any worked out rules for such things, but you could use
something like this:

Weapons:
Bronze: -1 on all damages (min dmg 1), breaks on a natrual 1-3 (if next
d20 < 9)
Iron: as listed in the rules, breaks on a natrual 1-2 (if next d20 <
10).
Steel: either +1 on dmg OR "to hit", breaks on a natrual 1 (if next d20
< 12).

Aroumrs:
Bronze: -1 on all saving throws, excpet vs electrics, where you get +1.
Iron: as in DMG
Steel: +1 on all saving throws, except vs elcetrics, where you get -2.

I think a +5% weight on Bronze and a -5% weight on Steel should be ok.

If you have the fighters handbook, then you can just rename "making high
quality weapons/armours" to "making steel weapons/armours".

I hope you can use that to start with.
