Not to be controversial, but I get so tired of hearing about drow. I have no idea what the
fascination with them that so many people have, or why these same people seem to think they are the
greatest creatures alive or dead. They have to be one of the more overused and abused races
around. In my opinion, they are best left in Forgotten Realms =)

Just because an elf is evil, or a Dark Elf, doesn't mean he's a drow, imho...

While I could go into the munchkin worship of Dribble D'oh Bourbon, I will
simply remind you, and everyone else, that Drow started on good old
Greyhawk, and only gained their great munchkin status later on. And while
EGG recently defended cavaliers & barbarians, they along with Drow,
Duergar, and Svirfneblin PC's in UA were his biggest mistakes ever, IMO.

That is true. Dalamar from the Dragonlance saga is an evil elf, yet has been
mistakenly called a drow several times. I believe Ed Greenwood did that in one
of his "Wizards Three" articles in Dragon magazine.
Sorry if this is getting off topic.

Yep damn right, in every other campaign setting there's discussions about
whether Drow are present usually brought up by people who play in the FR
setting. Any FR fans out there please don't take that the wrong way.
Thats one of the reasons I left the DL newsgroup, endless arguments about
whether you could have Drow (no), Lycanthropes (No) or Gem Dragons (God No).

We have evil elves that want to wipe out humanity. What do we need Drow
for? The Orogs fulfill the Underdark bad guy role IMO and its about time
people focussed on them as opposed to obsessing about a small group if
needlessly munchkinised Elves. And don't get me started on Drizt Do'Urden.
