In the wake of the ongoing chaos on this mailing list, I am appointing myself
Supreme Overgod and Dictator of the Online City project (for the time
being! :)
The reason for this is that several of us have come forward saying that "I'd
like to propose a vote" or "I'd like to volunteer for x" or "I want to
participate, will someone tell me what to do?" I know of at least 4 people who
have come forward saying that they are taking votes for this, that, or the
other. Obviously nothing is being done at this rate because nobody has taken
charge...so, to calm this down, I'm appointing myself LARGE AND IN CHARGE. :)
(I've always wanted to say that)

Also, there have been many people saying someone should step forward and
take the responsibility of coordinating this.

This means that I'm coordinating the organization of this city. Here is the
synopsis for the votes that I've been taking ->

We'll deal with the organization of the government and the NPC levels and such
once we have all of the Phase 1 issues decided, which are:
1. The status of the Online City
2. Which city to use
3. How many/which DMs we'll have

Please send your votes to akash@mail.utexas.edu. Thanks.

Here are the votes:

akash@mail.utexas.edu (resource, Imperial, 4 Moderators+Overgod DM)
suricate@mira.net (resource)
abeard@zebra.net (resource, Ilien, 4 Moderators+Overgod DM)
simong@mech.uwa.edu.au (resource, 1st Imperial 2nd Ilien, 2-3 mods+city
divided along sensible areas)

I think I'll present y'all with my opinion before you read what it's about.

Yeah, whatever. Calm down. We will all have a chance to embark on this
large project, but as at least one thoughtful person has said that they'll
give us results in a week. This makes good sense as each of us has time to
consider what we can offer and there will still be time to correlate the
responses before we get edgy.

"Margaret, what goes with that Online City?"
"Bob, they're all vying for the position of Overseer. When the fight's
over I'll tell you who won."

My vote for the person to take all of our opinions in is Bryan Palmer who
got in there first and will happily do this segment of the work.

Having served as an air force officer you'd think I'd learned not to
volunteer for projects like this one! However, I'm going to throw my
hat in the ring. I'd like to be both an organizer and contributor to
the project. If no one has any objections, I'll take the initiative and
ask for all those interested to send me the following information:

- -Name
- -E-mail address
- -The city you want to develop (your vote)

And for those wanting to contribute to the project:

- -What aspect of the city (guild, religious holding, etc) you are
interested in creating
- -Any particular expertise that could be used for project development
(e.g. graphic artist, cartographer, etc)

I'll wait until sometime next week to post the results of the vote.

My personal e-mail address is Bryan.Palmer@ASU.EDU
