He/she should get 1 RP for every GB the trade route is worth to him/her.
Remember, while RP can be passed between characters, it's not actually hard
currency. The RP transfers to the guild holder based on what he/she SHOULD
be getting. Now, taxes can be RP in nature as well ...

This bring another question our group had problems with: does the RP
generated for a trade route is add to the PC domain power or is it paid
directly to the PC regardless of his bloodline?
Ex: PC Bloodline = 30, Domain power = 42. A new trade route that is worth 6
GB is created. Does the PC gets 36 RP or 30 RP for the next turn?
We decided that it would be included in the domain power because we felt
that thief PC would be to powerful otherwise (the thiefs already get so
much money). I just wander what is the official answer to that one. The
rules are not very clear and it would be a good thing to clear this a bit
for the upcoming Birthright hardcover :-).

Then why is vassalage counted after this total..that would make stronger
regents even stronger. If you read the rules on calculating domain power,
the regency gained from trade routes and tribute aren't included, so by
omission, it would seem they both get added on after the total.

If you want to run your campaign that way, by all means. My opinion is as I
stated; thieves get enough by controlling the lion share of the wealth in
Cerilia. You want to give them the lion share of the regency as well? Why I
think this is diferent from what is attained through tribute: You have to
prove your might to gain the loyalty of a vassal, and that vassal can, in
theory, suspend his tribute to you at any time. Thus, you have to be
stronger in the 1st place; "yah, but like I said, that would make stronger
regents even stronger;" the way of the world, my lad, the way of the world.
On the other hand, giving thief regents this advantage would make them gods
without them first having to be strong. They would gain this regency
without 1st having to persuade (or force) others of their might, just as a
part of their normal duities. If the regency gained through trade was
analogous to the regency gained through tribute, then regents of any class
should be able to recieve it, but they do not.

That's right; all regency collected automatically counts toward domain
power (and is limited by the regent's bloodline). However, a regent may be
given as much RP (by a vassal, an ally, or someone hoping to court the
character's favor) as the DM allows. I know it doesn't say in the rules
that a DM should limit the amount of RP one character can give another, but
I make my players roleplay the situation out and explain how they can
transfer their peoples' support to another regent on a quantitative basis.

And do vassals add to domain power, or are paid direct to the PC? We
figured on the second, based on the stats for Darian Avan in RoE.

The Original message only goes to show that there are
some problems with the level of rewards for trade
routes, the amount of gold (and regency for theives) is
VERY high, IMC any regents who could reasonably
make a claim on the money will try to do so (Anyone
remember the "Share the wealth" card from the board
game LIFE?). I have even toyed with the idea of using
the value of a trade route as a guide for the die type rolled
to determine actual gold produced, with the value of the
trade route being the maximum gold generated. It works
fine for NPC guild holders who are vassals of PCs.

hello, Adam Theo here,
i've said that all RP that is generated by the regent's domain is
restricted by his bloodline. so trade routes and such are put in before
bloodline is applied.
things that are not of a regent's domain are added after the bloodline.
vassals, grants, artifacts, etc.
