OK, I have a real problem in the making in my game. I think I
have time to work it out, but would like some advice. Here's the situation:

One of my better players is the thief regent of an Anuirean
nation. His wife is a real backstabbing wench, and very evil. He was
forced to mary her for political reasons, and has regretted it ever
since. Well, quite recently (last month) she murdered him personally,
with his own bloosdilver dagger, stealijg his bloodline, and naturally
killing him. The other players were framed for the murder by the wife,
now ruler of the nation, and sentanced to death. Well, they escaped the
dungeon and got his body, which the higher level priest ressurected. OK,
fine. We now have an unblooded thief with an interesting scar. After
several adventures, the players used some of the ex-regents contacts to
get back to th castle. The player surprised the black widdow, and in the
fray, killed her with the same bloodsilver dagger. (The scene was great.
And, although it was bloodtheft, it wasn't intentional. Total random
luck). Anyway, here is the crux of the problem:

1) The regents new bloodline: His old derivation (Vorynn),
2) Her derivation
3) Or something new? (possibly Azrai, because of all of the blood
theft.

I have about a week to work this out, so please let me know what
is thought about this as a whole.

Thanks

Personnally, i would opt to the second. Since he doesn't possess anymore
bloodline, he would get hers, with all the problems and the powers coming with
it.

However, from a rules point of view, I would tend to agree with this, He has no
bloodline until he takes his exwife's (talk about a messy divorce!), so he would
most likely end up with her bloodline.

I don't have my Birthright book with me, but I believe it works as
follows:

1) Bloodtheft using bloodsilver gives half of the bloodline of the
victim. When the new regent steals the blood, he started unblooded so
he will have half of her bloodline.

2) Her derivation should be Vorynn most likely. If she was already
blooded and had a stronger bloodline than the PC, then I would have her
keep her origional bloodline.

3) I wouldn't give Azrai's blood unless she was already of Azrai's
bloodline. I would say the regent would still have his old derivation
(Vorynn) except most likely at a lower level.

If you post numbers of the PC's origional bloodline, and the wife's
origional bloodline before the bloodtheft, then I can answer using
numbers.
