I`ve mentioned a couple of times that I really like visual aids for

role-playing sessions, and as inspiration for particular characters or

adventures. In particular, I find certain genres and artists useful for

this purpose. The Pre-Raphaelites, for instance, tend to have a focus on

medieval and ancient scenes, many of which can apply to D&D sessions--for

all that such usage might make an Art Historian`s skin crawl....

Anyway, here`s a link to a site that I`ve found has many nice, useful scans

of classical works all broken down by artist. It also has some background

material on the artists and contains the occasional description of the

specific work`s impact and inspiration, which is always nice. Best, it`s free:

Any particular sites anyone would recommend?

geeman,

The pre-raphaelites definitely are the cat's meow, the bomb, the s&@t, etc. of art. I have loads of books of their art, but don't know of any good websites for you. The Tate Museum site has a few famous pieces, but not lots.
