John Machin and I have been working on a new PBeM and experimenting with the Ars Magica rules. The game itself is probably still a month or two from starting, but we are inviting people to join early in an effort to build a solid core of good players. I have included a basic game background below.
If you are interested in joining, visit the link below and click on the "Spectators" link on the forums. There you will find a list of domains we are seeking players for (a number of domains have already been allocated to friends and people helping us with the game).

Basic Game Scenario
The goal for the pbem is a game with lots of politics, wheeling-and-dealing, interaction, etc, rather than lots of armies marching all over the place.
What we came up with was the following: some time after Michael Roele died (no date set yet) the Gorgon threatened Anuire with one of his invasions but with the nobles all struggling against each other Anuire was caught unprepared and only desperate defence halted the Gorgon and eventually pushed his forces back (this probably all took several years and nearly destroyed Anuire).
The surviving nobles realised that if Anuire was to survive it needed a degree of organisation and central authority. Yet, as always, they could not decide upon one of their number to become emperor. Their eventual solution was to create a Council of Electors (as later existed for the Holy Roman Emperor in Europe). These Electors would be the direct descendants of the 12 original Duchies. They would meet on a regular basis to pass laws, grant titles, etc.
Their most important duty, however, was to elect one from among their number to serve as Emperor. So, a few hundred years ago the Anuirean Empire was reborn. The Emperor is elected by the 12 Duchies and serves for life, after which a new Emperor is elected. Avanil became the first Emperor on the understanding that Boeruine would be the second. There have been a few problems with overly-ambitious/greedy Emperors, but overall the system has worked and become enshrined in Anuirean tradition and convention.
The game will start upon the death of the old Emperor. The 12 Duchies will have to meet and try to elect a new Emperor (a process which can sometimes take several years). So lots of wheeling-and-dealing as each of the 12 Duchies try to get themselves elected and try to get support from other realms not one of the 12 Duchies.
The churches will try to promote one who favours their teachings and the guilds will be trying to get someone elected who is pro-commerce (or not anti-commerce). Lots of political factions forming and re-forming, etc. At the same time we are re-creating the Imperial Temple which is without a head (Arch-Prelate). Temples can vie for this honour just as landed regents vie to become Emperor.
At the same time Anuire's enemies may well decide to take advantage of the situation to pursue their interests before a new Emperor is chosen.
