Are you talking about the Adventure "The Sword of Roele"? I can't remember any Vampire in there.

Or do you talk about the hero Michael Roele?

KBAZZRN,

I think its an error in the scenario.

I couldn't find him either.

According to the text in the Giant's Chamber (p 46) el Huffas is found in
Area 38 (the Chamber of The Marshalls).

According to the info there "el-Mimar didn't find a body under slab I
(because the occupant was out feeding)" - so that's where el-Huffas is
supposed to be but there ain't no stats.

I was running it under 3E so rolled up a 7th lvl figher and slapped the
Vampire template on... worked fine for me, not so easy for the PCs...

if You go purely off the backround story this vampire would need to be a 12 or 13 enconter lv monster it is listed by deeds as a quite powerful and old creature if its been in this crypt for 500+ years
after all the arcitect knew about him to be smart enough to make a protection spell to keep it at bay and roele has been dead a long time.

I agree about the back-story and how powerful el-Huffas should be. The only problem is the adventure is designed for 5th to 8th level PCs.

A CR13 vampire would wipe the floor with a party of that level. When I ran it they had trouble enough with a CR9 one! In my campaign they never did destroy el-Huffas and he will be back to haunt them.

If you're running a higher-level party through it, or want to scare the crap out of lower level one, go for it!

You may want to beef up the undead prince in the room where the Sword is however as it may be a bit of an anti-climax after el-Huffas (as I think he's supposed to be the "boss monster").

odule a little while back and also noted the lack of

stats for the vampire. Estimating him to be a bit too powerful for the

party, I just left the evidence around that he`d been there (bite marks

on the giants for example), but the party had somehow missed him and

he`s gotten out of the dungeon to terrorise the countryside and become

an adventure for later on.

Personally I`d rather the vampire running around as a plot

device than the monkey king.

My own take on vampirism is that it is always derived from The Vampire (who

is just the other side of Rhormarch, BTW). As such, this creates a set of

very interesting hooks, both in the Chimaeron as well as the realm of the

Vampire and where ever agents of those two extend.
