[top]Biography:

The Drake, who calls himself Saeryk the Warlock, is a powerful warlock, a master thief, and a regent with a bloodline strong enough to rival the raw power of the true dragons. He is cruel, ruthless, and strong enough to storm out of the Stonecrown Mountains when his plans are ripe. Those in the know fear that the time is drawing nigh.

From Wyrmstone Citadel

During the early days of his rule, the Gorgon spent a good deal of time hand-picking his successor. His bride, Tara of Anuire, bore him offspring which he groomed as possible successors. He bound his creations with bonds of shadow, blood, and ice. Among these, the Drake served him best.

The Drake grew rebellious, snapped at his bonds, and stole away to the deepest caverns of the Stonecrowns to escape the Gorgon's wrath. The Drake's days as a vassal were over, but he was not yet free of the bonds of fear, and so he lived in darkness. For long ages the son of the awnsheghlien hid, calling himself Saeryk the Warlock and mastering the arts of invocation, realm magic, and manipulation of ley lines that channel mebhaighl from the wellsprings of magical power into the mage's hands. He learned to assume a half-draconic form and, like his father, went out seeking brides.

Selection of a new patron [need Complete Arcane to discuss]

In the fullness of time, the Drake found that fhoimoriens made for very powerful children, and fathered many of them. His sons are warlocks with a taste of magical power. As he drew the fhoimoriens into his suzerainty, they brought orogs with them, and these orogs worshiped the Drake as a god. The orogs sacrificed their plunder to him and turned to him in dark times when dwarf and human armies forced them to hide deep under the surface. It was not the armies that frightened the Drake, but the awareness that the Gorgon might discover his hiding place and seek his destruction.

The Warlock's skin is scaly and dry, and his eyes have slit pupils like a snake's. He is quite old and decrepit; though he is an awnshegh, his body shows all the signs of age. The Warlock is agoraphobic, cautious, wheedling, treacherous, slippery and a practiced liar. If the Warlock can avoid a conflict he will, but expect him to turn on any promises made, and send someone to kill you afterwards.

He is currently located in the Stonecrown Mountains in Anuire planning on forging his own nation at the cost of Cariele and The Five Peaks. He has gotten a hold of a powerful artifact, called the Midnight Cauldron, that allows the draining of a land's mebhaighl and stores that power in the cauldron to be used as a source to be tapped.
