Spiritsend is largely a marshland. Even so a fair number live in the villages long the coast, where the land is dry enough to support permanent structures. Fishing and commerce is the occupation of most residents. Herbs and other resources are extracted from the marsh as a secondary activity. Spiritsend is not peopled enough to merit a count, and instead are considered a viscounty.
Because these provinces are largely swampy, land dry enough to be useful for farming or raising livestock is comparatively rare. Thus, many of the people who live in these provinces are not directly connected to the hierarchical system of nobles that exist in the other provinces. Many people here live in isolated homesteads or tiny fishing villages, as small yeoman. Of course, nobles in these provinces too, and they generally have taken the best land that is available for traditional agriculture.
The Viscount of Spiritsend is Ansien Bindier (MAn; T4; Vo, minor, 17; LN). He owns an estate of three manors near the north of the province where dry land is somewhat more common. As a result, his Foghaven Manor is less than a day's ride from the capital, and he tends to spend more time in his townhouse there than in his family's estates. Four separate fiefs are held by oath to knights.
His vassals include Lord Brosen Daeren, who controls another three manors in the north, two directly and one held by a knight.
Baronet Vaesil Boerghas (MAn;Rog4; Vo, tainted, 9; NG) recent;y married Lady Niela Taurele (FAn; Ftr3; Ba, tainted, 11; CG) and thus doubled the size of his one manor in the west of the province. He has two manors enfiefed separately to a pair of knights.
